Sunset Oaks was first built in 2004 and is comprised of 633 single family homes on approximately 350 acres with 100 acres of open space.
Sunset Oaks - A Social Community
Sunset Oaks is a very warm, friendly and socially active community. There are always neighbors who are are willing to lend a helping hand, loan their tools and even watch your home while you’re away. Sunset Oaks has a very active Facebook group in which members communicate issues that are important to the quality of the neighborhood and safety of the families and children, as well as just fun things going on in the neighborhood and around town. Homeowners are always happy to refer their favorite service providers and contractors to other residents when they’ve had positive past experiences. In short, Sunset Oaks is a closely knit neighborhood where people watch out for each other and develop friendships for a lifetime.
It’s very common for several neighborhood gatherings to take place throughout Sunset Oaks on major holidays such as Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Halloween. There’s always something fun going on, or coming up soon.
The neighborhood is convenient to restaurants, shopping, parks, libraries, cultural centers and healthcare facilities. The Outer Beltline (I-540) will make access even better in the near future as the planned extension will be very convenient to Sunset Oaks and be a major benefit to homeowners by helping reduce drive times to and from work.
HOA Management
Great pride has been taken in Sunset Oaks to develop standards to ensure the beauty of the community will last for generations. The homeowners association is professionally managed, and there are covenants, restrictions and architectural and fencing guidelines in place to assist with the plan of protecting the neighborhood.
Swim and Tennis
Sunset Oaks is home to one of the finest community pool facilities in the Triangle which includes a kiddie pool, splashers, sprayers, splash pads, water slide and lazy river. The pool / tennis membership is optional for residents. Membership can be obtained through the Sunset Ridge Racquet & Swim Club. Membership includes use of ALL pool facilities and tennis courts.
